MacKenzie Properties, Inc. wins an award for Schilling Place in Hunt Valley, Maryland BALTIMORE - MacKenzie Properties, Inc., the development arm of The MacKenzie Companies, a full service commercial real estate services company in Maryland, won an award for its office redevelopment project in Hunt Valley, Maryland known as Schilling Place. The Maryland Chapter of National Association of Independent Office Parks (NAIOP) voted Schilling Place as one of the State’s best commercial projects in the category “Single-Story Office Rehab”. The NAIOP competition awarded excellence in building development by evaluating all facets of the project including, but not limited to, building design, lobby design, landscaping, leasing and site plans.
Schilling Pepper, LLC, a joint venture between the principals of MacKenzie Properties, Inc. of Lutherville, Maryland and Kinsley Properties based in York, Pennsylvania, acquired the property situated in the converging area of McCormick, Schilling and Pepper Roads. The project had once been utilized as manufacturing and warehouse facilities owned by Northrop Grumman Corporation. LSC Design and Kinsley Construction renovated the buildings with a new brick exterior, new roof and complete replacement of all interior building systems. Grades around the buildings were changed to allow for pedestrian entry, new parking lots and landscaping. The Schilling Place project currently features 500,000 square feet of newly renovated flex and office space.
The two, one-story office buildings which won the NAIOP award were 111 Schilling Road, which contains 150,000 square feet and 101 Schilling Road which contains 82,000 square feet. The St. Paul Companies occupy 111 Schilling Road, while Black & Decker, Horichs Parks & Lebow Advertising and Marketing, and Café Gourmet occupy 101 Schilling Road.
MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services, the Maryland alliance member of Cushman & Wakefield, is the exclusive broker for Schilling Pepper, LLC. Kinsley Construction is the General Contractor for all future development of the project. MacKenzie Management Corporation is the property management company.
