MCRES Selects Ryan Katstra as Real Estate Advisor in Charlottesville, Virginia Regional Office

MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services, a full-service commercial real estate brokerage firm, has selected Ryan Katstra as Real Estate Advisor in the company’s Charlottesville, Virginia Regional office. Katstra recently earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, with a minor in Real Estate, from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce.

In his new role with the commercial real estate brokerage firm, Katstra will represent the interests of tenants, developers, landlords, and institutional owners in the sale and leasing of all asset classes including commercial office, warehouse/industrial, and retail with a focus on the central Virginia region. He will work under the direction of Sam Orr, Executive Vice President and head of the Charlottesville office.

“Our regional office continues to see strong momentum and an increasing volume of new assignments across the Central Virginia region, and we were in need of additional resources to bring long-term value to the owners, landlords, and tenants we represent,” explained Orr. “Ryan immediately impressed us with his high intellect, energy and passion for the commercial real estate sector, and we are tremendously confident that he will excel in our fast-paced environment. The Charlottesville and surrounding business community remains robust and we foresee continuing opportunities as companies relocate to or expand within the region.”

Since MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services established its regional office in Charlottesville more than two years ago, the team has built a strong presence and currently handles assignments for real estate owners, investors, and tenants across 13 counties in Central Virginia. The group’s geographic footprint extends to Northern Virginia, Harrisonburg, Norfolk, Richmond, and the Shenandoah Valley. Recent representative closings include representing the Elk Hill School in the purchase of 321 Hillsdale Drive, and representing Community Christian Academy in the purchase of 384 Worrell Drive.

Katstra handled property management functions for Braden Property Management during a summer internship and worked as a Project Development intern for UVA Foundation. He serves as an assistant coach for the Albemarle High lacrosse team, and volunteers with F3 Charlottesville.
