MCRES Enters Washington, D.C./Northern Virginia Industrial Market with Hiring of Oliver Fryer

Brokerage professional will team with recently-hired Bryan Herr to represent developers, landlords, institutional owners and end-users in sales and leasing activities throughout DMV region

MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services has entered the greater Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia industrial market with the hiring of Oliver Fryer as Vice President. Formerly affiliated with Cushman & Wakefield, the brokerage professional will team with recently-hired Bryan Herr to pursue leasing and sales opportunities serving the real estate requirements of developers, landlords, institutional owners, and end-users in the DMV region. Fryer will work from the company’s Annapolis regional office.

“MacKenzie has represented the interests of landlords, owners and tenants with industrial real estate needs in the DC and Northern Virginia submarket for some time, and this new dedicated team will be singularly focused on expanding our brand, uncovering new opportunities, and leveraging our group’s extensive marketing and research resources,” stated Scott Wimbrow, President of MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services. “There will also be certain synergies to service requirements with our rapidly-growing team based in Charlottesville, Virginia. With more than three million people residing in the DC/Northern Virginia region, the warehouse/industrial sector satisfies the continuing logistics and delivery requirements of a growing population and remains robust.”

Fryer and Herr will handle site selection, leasing, acquisition, and disposition activities, as well as form new and strengthen existing relationships in the brokerage community.

Throughout his commercial real estate career, Fryer has supported the real estate requirements of companies including GID, High Street Logistics Properties, Penske, Skanska, TA Realty, and Triten Real Estate Partners. Prior to entering the commercial real estate brokerage industry, he worked as a Business Operations Manager for Amazon where he handled fulfillment operations and operational management.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geographic Information Science and Cartography from the University of Maryland College Park, and served as a Captain in the U.S. Army for five years.

“Bryan and I both worked in the logistics and operations industry previously and thriving in that fast-paced industry takes a lot of grit and determination,” stated Fryer. “We intend to transfer those experiences and business lessons as we focus on serving the warehouse and industrial requirements of owners and operators in the DMV. MacKenzie is the ideal platform to take the next step in my career, based on the availability of resources and the opportunity to receive mentorship from the leadership team.”

“As our company continues to win high-profile industrial sales and leasing assignments, it is critical to add new talent to our team to support these new requirements,” added Wimbrow. “Oliver brings a strong real estate background to MacKenzie, combined with tremendous leadership skills and discipline refined from his military and business experience. We are extremely impressed with his proven ability to navigate high-stakes negotiations, manage complex transactions, and deliver optimal solutions to his clients. His skillset adds depth our strong sales and leasing team.”
