Lynchburg, Virginia-Based General Contracting Firm Jamerson-Lewis Construction Expands to Charlottlesville Area

MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services brokers 2.846 square foot lease at 310 Old Ivy Way

Lynchburg, Virginia-based general contracting company Jamerson-Lewis Construction, Inc. has expanded to the Charlottesville area with the recent opening of a new regional office at 310 Old Ivy Way. Approximately five employees will be initially stationed in the 2,846 square foot space, with the full-service construction group expected to accelerate hiring later this year. MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services, a full-service commercial real estate brokerage firm which also operates a regional office in Charlottesville brokered the lease on behalf of the tenant with Sam Orr, Executive Vice President, and Brian Thomas, Real Estate Advisor handling negotiations.

According the company, Jamerson-Lewis Construction has a long history of projects completed in the greater Charlottesville area including the construction of the softball stadium and the construction and renovation of the Birdwood indoor golf facility at the University of Virginia (UVA). The company’s existing pipeline in the area is highlighted by laboratory renovations of the UVA chemistry lab, an addition to the UVA Center for Politics, the construction of the Biscuit Run Park maintenance building, and the construction of the Albermarle High School Technical Education Center.

“Over the past seven years, the Charlottesville market has become vital to our company’s growth and, along the way, we have developed many significant relationships that have helped cement our presence in this robust area with multiple growth drivers,” stated William Cook, President of Jamerson-Lewis Construction. “With our main office just over one hour away, we have been able to adequately service the needs of our clients, but it became clear that a permanent address in Charlottesville would be advantageous to both our customers and employees. Having more team members positioned 15 minutes away from the jobsite creates shorter response times and improves communication and efficiency. Our long-term plan is to double our staff over the next five or so years.”

“Jamerson-Lewis Construction has built a sterling reputation delivering best-in-class construction projects in Charlottesville and the timing is perfect for their investment in this permanent office,” explained MacKenzie’s Brian Thomas. “During our office search, we were diligent in guiding the company to strategically-located buildings close to major highways and near important amenities, as well assets that project a highly-professional image in keeping with the Jamerson-Lewis brand.”

The MacKenzie Companies operates five full-service divisions addressing all real estate asset classes including MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services, MacKenzie Management, MacKenzie Capital, MacKenzie Contracting and MacKenzie Investment Group.
