Brian Thomas Promoted to Vice President in MCRES’ Virginia Office in Charlottesville
Brian Thomas has been promoted to Vice President in MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services’ Virginia Office in Charlottesville. Thomas joined the full-service brokerage firm in 2024 after pivoting from his former position as Head Coach for The George Washington University’s Division I men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams. He worked in the collegiate athletics sector for 18 years.
In his continuing capacity with the company, Thomas will represent the interests of tenants, landlords, developers, institutional owners in the sale and leasing of all asset classes including commercial office, warehouse/industrial and retail with a focus on the central Virginia region. Thomas and the Mackenzie Commercial Real Estate Services team also represent owners and buyers of land holdings. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut.

Following the opening of the Virginia Office just over two years ago, the team has built a strong presence and currently handles assignments for real estate owners, investors, and tenants across 13 counties in Central Virginia. The group’s geographic footprint extends to Northern Virginia, Harrisonburg, Norfolk, Richmond, and the Shenandoah Valley. Recent representative closings include representing the Elk Hill School in the purchase of 321 Hillsdale Drive, representing the owners of Michie Tavern in the sale of the property, and representing Community Christian Academy in the purchase of 384 Worrell Drive.
